Cat on a Hot Tin Roof: The Times Review

This review of the film version of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof appeared in The Times on October 8, 1958. The 1955 stage play had won for its author, Tennessee Williams, a Pulitzer Prize. The film version, directed by Richard Brooks, starred an Academy-Award nominated Paul Newman, Elizabeth Taylor, and Burl Ives in the role of the dying Southern patriarch, Big Daddy.
