| The Romanian-born independent film producer Marin Karmitz is an influential figure in the French film industry. In the late 1960s and early 1970s he directed several short and feature-length films, before founding the film company MK2 in 1974. His influence now extends to production and distribution, as well as the ownership of numerous French cinemas. He is pictured here at a screening of Last Days by Gus Van Sant (distributed by MK2) at the 2005 Festival de Cannes. | ||||||
