| The television series Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994) was modelled on the original Star Trek series created in the 1960s by American producer, director, and writer Gene Roddenberry. Both shows were set several centuries in the future and featured characters who served in an interplanetary organization called Starfleet. While travelling through space in a starship called the USS Enterprise, the characters dealt with difficult moral and ethical issues. This interactive illustration contains information about the major characters on The Next Generation, and about the actors who played the parts. | ||||||
