Houses of Parliament, London

The political centre of the United Kingdom is the Houses of Parliament, located along the Thames River in London. Big Ben, the bell in the clock tower, rings every hour. Among the houses are the sumptuous House of Lords; House of Commons; St Stephen's Hall on the site of St Stephen's Chapel; the residence of the Speaker; the libraries, committee rooms, and lobbies connected with the House of Commons and the House of Lords; and offices.
