High Prices in Iceland

High Prices in Iceland
So much of what Icelanders buy must be imported from all over the world, that prices paid at supermarkets like this one in Hafnarfjörður are particularly high. A high rate of inflation increased the cost of living during the late 1970s and 1980s, but by the early 1990s, inflation in Iceland had returned to more normal levels.
