Pico de Teide

Pico de Teide
Volcanic Pico de Teide, at the centre of Tenerife, is the highest mountain in the Canary Islands. Alexander von Humboldt explored the snow-capped peak in 1799 and catalogued the vegetation carpeting its slopes. The striking volcano, protected as part of a national park, last erupted in 1909.
