Red Drawing Room, Syon House

Red Drawing Room, Syon House
Robert Adam designed and built Syon House, in Middlesex, in 1762-1769. Classical Roman interiors inspired Adam’s work, but he also drew on the ideas of his French contemporaries. For all its opulence, the Red Drawing Room is in fact much simpler and more formal than most interior design of that period.
