Church on Lake Ohrid, FYROM

The small church of St Jovan Kaneo overlooks Lake Ohrid in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (FYROM). Most citizens of the country are Orthodox Christians. The lake was designated by UNESCO a natural World Heritage property in 1979, and in 1980 the entire Ohrid region, with its historical and cultural places of interest and its natural environment, was created a World Heritage Site.
