Architecture of Brasília

Architecture of Brasília
Large open spaces and modern architecture characterize Brasília, the capital city of Brazil. The city was constructed on an undeveloped site during the late 1950s and early 1960s in an attempt to encourage settlement in the inland regions of Brazil. This picture shows a sculpture of the head of Brazilian president Juselino Kubitschek in the Plaza of the Three Powers in Brasília.
