Winston Churchill in 1904

In the early 1900s Winston Churchill was a young Conservative member of the House of Commons. He quickly gained a reputation as a critic of his party’s policies. In 1904 he switched sides and joined the Liberal Party over the issue of free trade, and spent the next ten years as a Liberal.
