Galton in Old Age
Scientist Sir Francis Galton is best known as the founder of eugenics. As part of his extensive research into heredity, Galton measured and recorded selected hereditary characteristics of a large number of people. This effort piqued Galton's interest in the variation between human fingerprints, leading him to develop a rudimentary fingerprint identification system.
