Louis XVIII of France and Family

Louis XVIII of France and Family
Royalists who fled France during the French Revolution were known as émigrés. Among the most politically active were the Comte de Provence, who took the title Louis XVIII and was regarded by the émigrés as the rightful ruler of France. In this print of 1807, tellingly titled “The Royal Family”, Louis XVIII is shown seated, with the Comte d’Artois standing at his side.
