V. S. Naipaul

V. S. Naipaul
The Trinidadian author V. S. Naipaul’s novels and essays have made him a much-admired writer in the 20th century and earned him a knighthood. His novels mix satire with humour and confront issues such as exile and the seach for identity, as well as the tension between the traditional and the contemporary, themes that reflect his own Indian ancestry. A House for Mr Biswas (1961) is one of his best-known works.
