John Bunyan
Pictured is the frontispiece and title-page from The Pilgrim’s Progress (1678, 1684), English author John Bunyan’s best-known work, and one of the most widely read books in the English language. Bunyan is supposed to have written a large part of the famous Christian allegory while he was in prison for unlicensed preaching.
