Bonfire Night

Bonfire Night
In Britain, Guy Fawkes’s Night, or Bonfire Night, as it is popularly known, is a celebration of the foiling of the Gunpowder Plot on November 5, 1605. Effigies of Guy Fawkes, main protagonist of the plot, are burnt on bonfires. Fireworks, representing the gunpowder that was intended to blow up the Houses of Parliament, form a major part of the occasion.
