| The upright birthwort (Aristolochia clematitis) grows in central Europe, whereas most species of the Aristolochia genus are found in the tropics and subtropics of America. Their flowers are foul-smelling and attract flies. They are also shaped so that a fly becomes trapped when it enters. This ensures that the fly picks up pollen on its body before it is released. | ||||||
