Congress of Vienna
The Congress of Vienna which convened at the Austrian capital from September 1814 to June 1815, was a major event in the history of international relations. Its ambition was to reorganize Europe after the disruptions created by the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. Among the notable participants were Metternich (seventh from the left, standing) and Talleyrand (sitting, on his right, his arm resting on the table).
