Classical School of Economics

Thomas Malthus, John Stuart Mill, and David Ricardo together with Adam Smith form the “classical” school of economics. All four believed in private property, free markets, and competition. Malthus, Ricardo, and Mill, however, encouraged government regulation of the economy in certain instances.
