Ruth Benedict

Ruth Benedict
American cultural anthropologist Ruth Benedict used fieldwork as her primary research method. She spent years living and working with the various cultures she studied and is still considered one of the pioneering authorities on Native American ethnology for her work with various Native American tribes during the 1920s and 1930s. During World War II, she wrote a fascinating study of Japanese culture.
