Georgi Dimitrov
In 1933 Bulgarian Communist leader Georgi Dimitrov successfully defended himself against charges of conspiracy to burn down the German Reichstag. Dimitrov claimed that the Nazi Party, led by Adolf Hitler, staged the fire as an excuse to suppress opposition. Dimitrov served as Prime Minister of Bulgaria from 1946 to 1949.
