Kaliningrad, Russia

Kaliningrad, Russia
Kaliningrad, on the Pregolya River, is an important Russian commercial centre connected to Baltiysk, an ice-free port on the Baltic Sea. Formerly known as Königsberg, the city's strategic location has been occupied by many different forces, including the Teutonic Knights, Prussians, and Soviets. Kaliningrad is now an exclave of Russia on the Baltic Sea, surrounded by Lithuania and Poland.
