Mary Wollstonecraft
English author Mary Wollstonecraft wrote one of the first great documents of feminism, A Vindication of the Rights of Woman, in 1792. She died ten days after giving birth to her daughter, the writer Mary Wollstonecraft Shelley, who was married to the poet Percy Bysshe Shelley.
