Hans Richter
Making his Vienna debut in 1875, the Hungarian Hans Richter was among the first group of orchestral conductors to be internationally recognized as artists in their own right. He was closely associated with the music of the German composers Richard Wagner and Johannes Brahms, the Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, and the English composer Edward Elgar.
