Crash of Pan Am Flight 103

Crash of Pan Am Flight 103
One of the worst acts of terrorism in history occurred on December 21, 1988, when Pan Am flight 103 exploded over the town of Lockerbie, Scotland, and crashed. The New York-bound Jumbo jet had just taken off from London’s Heathrow International Airport with 244 passengers and 15 crew members. Burning debris rained down over the small town in south-western Scotland, killing 11 residents.
