Alice and the Cheshire Cat

Alice and the Cheshire Cat
This illustration by Sir John Tenniel portrays the Cheshire Cat, a character from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (1865). The Cheshire Cat would often fade from sight until nothing but his grin remained visible. In the story, a little girl named Alice goes down a rabbit hole into a fantastic, illogical world. 19th-century English writer Lewis Carroll originally wrote this famous children’s story for Alice Liddell, the young daughter of a friend.
