Tympanum of the Portal of Saint Pierre, Moissac
The tympanum in the church of Saint Pierre, Moissac, built between 1115 and 1135, depicts the second coming of Christ. The figure of Christ in majesty, sitting in judgment at the end of the world, is surrounded by an angel, lion, eagle, and ox, representing the four evangelists Matthew, Mark, John, and Luke, respectively.
