René Lévesque
René Lévesque was a Canadian statesman who helped implement the Quiet Revolution from 1960 to 1966 as a Quebec provincial cabinet member. Lévesque favoured a Quebec independent of Canada. He became provincial premier in 1976. In 1985, he retired from office.
