| The Ketchaoua Mosque is one of many buildings crowded closely together in the Kasbah of Algiers, the capital of Algeria. The older northern section of the Mediterranean coastal city is named after the kasbah, or fortress, around which Algiers developed. Like kasbahs in many North African cities, the one in Algiers is densely populated. | ||||||
