Marcel Aymé
The French writer Marcel Aymé pictured in 1945. He came to prominence with the novels La Table-aux-crevés (1929; The Hollow Field, 1933) and La Jument verte (1933; The Green Mare, 1955), which satirized life in French provincial communities. He was also a successful author of plays and children's stories.
