World Trade Organization Protest

World Trade Organization Protest
Critics of the World Trade Organization have sometimes attacked its policies of globalization and free trade on the basis that these are biased towards wealthy and powerful nations. In December 1999, thousands of people gathered in Seattle, USA, to demonstrate against the WTO summit. Amongst other demands, protestors called for reforms to make the trade body more responsive to consumers, workers, and the environment.
