The Ray of Sunlight

The Ray of Sunlight
The poetic landscapes of Dutch artist Jacob van Ruisdael profoundly influenced generations of later artists. In his paintings signs of civilization are often portrayed as small and insignificant beside the power and grandeur of nature. The Ray of Sunlight, painted in 1682, is in the collection of the Musée du Louvre, Paris.
