Marcel Carné

Marcel Carné worked with Jacques Prévert on a number of films that reflected the French Zeitgeist during the period from the Popular Front to the Nazi Occupation of World War II. Their collaborations were typically gritty, realistic, and fatalistic, but also remarkable for their poetic dialogue.
