Fascist March on Rome

In October 1922 about 25,000 militant Fascists demonstrated in Rome, Italy. This show of power prompted Italian King Victor Emmanuel III to invite Fascist leader Benito Mussolini to join a coalition government in Italy. Three years later Mussolini became dictator, installing a Fascist regime that ruled Italy until 1943.
