Little Moreton Hall, Cheshire

Little Moreton Hall, Cheshire
Little Moreton Hall, in Cheshire, is an extensive half-timbered Elizabethan mansion, built by the wealthy Moreton family in the 15th and 16th centuries. The house was designed primarily as a home rather than a fortress, and its surrounding moat was dug more for aesthetic than for defensive purposes. This is a view of the south front of the house, with a bridge over the moat.
