Catching Cod in Newfoundland and Labrador

Catching Cod in Newfoundland and Labrador
Fishing has been an important economic activity in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador throughout much of its history. Here, fishermen haul a cod trap aboard as they fish off the coast of Cape Spear. Cod, demersal or groundfish found on the ocean bottoms, are harvested at more than double the volume of any other marine catch in Newfoundland and Labrador.
