Southern Ethiopia

Most of Ethiopia lies on a plateau cut by deep valleys, rivers, and lakes. In the south-western region of the country, the plateau lowers towards Lake Turkana. The shallow lake is home to large numbers of fish, as well as crocodiles and hippopotamuses.
