Capitoline Wolf

Capitoline Wolf
The Capitoline Wolf, dating from between about 500 and 480 BC, is one the earliest and best-known pieces of Etruscan bronze statuary. The statue’s meaning is uncertainly known, but may be connected to the legend of Romulus and Remus. The figures of the twins were, however, added in the 15th century.
