Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace
The Crystal Palace, built entirely of wrought iron and glass, was an early example of modern, functional architecture. It was designed by architect Sir Joseph Paxton for the first universal fair, the Great Exhibition of 1851. The fair drew over six million visitors to see an estimated eight miles of display tables located inside the Crystal Palace.
