| A historical centre in Tuscany, Siena has perfectly preserved its medieval roots. Long stretches of the city walls still remain, with gates dating back to the early 14th century. The historic centre was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list in 1995. The Piazza del Campo can be seen at the centre of this photograph. | ||||||
