Monk of the Camaldoli Order

Monk of the Camaldoli Order
The hermitage of Camaldoli in the Tuscan Apennines was founded in 1012 by St Romuald as an independent branch of the Benedictine order. It is home to a community of monks, who live as hermits in the 20 cells of the monastery, rigidly observing the rules of their closed order.
