James Kelman
Scottish novelist, short-story writer, and playwright James Kelman published his first collection of short stories, Not while the giro, in 1983. He is a working-class writer from the west of Scotland, who uses swear words liberally in his writing. His novels include The Busconductor Hines (1984) and How late it was, how late, winner of the Booker Prize in 1994.
