| In 1991 German hikers discovered the body of a late Stone Age man, dubbed Iceman, at an altitude of 3,200 m (10,000 ft) in the Tyrolean Alps. The body, several of his possessions, and remains of clothing had been very well preserved by the ice on the mountain, and archaeologists have been able to deduce much about Iceman by carrying out tests on the items recovered. | ||||||
