Noel Coward
English playwright, producer, actor, and composer Sir Noel Coward is among the most prolific, versatile, and successful of English dramatists. His witty, sophisticated, and sometimes satirical plays, several of which are still frequently performed, include Hay Fever (1925), Private Lives (1930), Blithe Spirit (1941), and This Happy Breed (1942). Coward also wrote screenplays for films that are now considered classics, including In Which We Serve (1942) and Brief Encounter (1945).
