J. G. Ballard

J. G. Ballard
Much of the early work of English writer J. G. Ballard reflects the influence of science fiction; both The Drowned World (1962) and The Crystal World (1966) explore environmental disaster in the 20th century. Ballard is probably best known for his autobiographical novel The Empire of the Sun (1984), which was made into a film by Steven Spielberg and released in 1987.
