William Pitt the Younger

William Pitt the Younger
William Pitt became Britain's youngest prime minister when George III appointed him to the premiership in 1783 at the age of 24. Among Pitt's achievements was the passing of the 1800 Act of Union, which created the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. He also hoped to pass legislation that would allow Catholics to enter the British Parliament, but this was opposed by George III and caused Pitt to resign in 1801.
