Mask of Agamemnon

Mask of Agamemnon
The so-called Mask of Agamemnon was discovered in a grave at Mycenae by Heinrich Schliemann in 1876. Although Schliemann believed that he had discovered the graves of the heroes of the Trojan War, the burials, and this mask, in fact date from an earlier phase of Mycenaean culture, which with Minoan culture forms part of the Aegean civilization.
