Louis Lumière
Louis Lumière examines a reel of film frame by frame. He and his brother Auguste were among the pioneers of cinema. Their invention of the Cinématographe marked the start of movie history. The Lumières’ first public film show took place on December 28, 1895, in the Grand Café on the Boulevard des Capucines, Paris. During that decade the brothers made documentary films showing scenes from everyday life such as the arrival of a locomotive at a station.
