Nero
Nero was emperor of Rome from ad 54 to 68. He had many of his political enemies murdered or executed, and even ordered the execution of his wife and mother. When, in 64, two thirds of Rome were destroyed by fire, he was thought to be responsible. In 68 the Senate declared him a public enemy and he committed suicide.
