Battle of Crécy

Battle of Crécy
The Battle of Crécy, fought in northern France in 1346, was the first confrontation between England and France in the Hundred Years’ War. Victory fell to the English, partly because of their superior weaponry. This fanciful scene from the battle illustrates the 14th-century Chronicles of Jean Froissard.
