Palmarole Island

Palmarole Island
Palmarole, together with the islands of Ponza and Zannone, belongs to the Ponziane archipelago situated in the Tyrrhenian Sea, off the south-western shores of Italy, and forms part of a national park renowned for its interesting tectonic and volcanic past and a rich bird- and wildlife. The island is also famous for its characteristic cliff dwellings (pictured), which date back to the 18th century.
